Fire Systems Engineer Job Description

About the Position:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of fire detection, alarm and suppression systems, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers are performed to agreed customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Commissioning fire detection, alarm and suppression systems in accordance with customer requirements.
- Servicing and maintaining fire detection, fire suppression systems, emergency lighting and fire extinguisher in line with service and maintenance contracts.
- Providing regular reports on activities to enable management plan strategic and operational direction for the fire systems team.
- Ensuring all client property, vehicles, stock, test equipment and tools are accounted for and kept in good working order.
- Supporting sales efforts by specifying customer needs through provision of expert advice during on-site inspections.
- Responding to customer queries and resolving issues promptly and courteously.
- Attending product training when necessary and attaining comprehensive knowledge of all client's product range.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards relevant to Fire systems.
- Experience in standard & complex fire suppression systems.
- Ability to manage large projects from design through to completion.
- Proven experience of commissioning large projects with complex strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of conventional and analogue fire alarm systems.
- Experience working with major fire alarm brands including air sampling systems.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Full clean driving licence essential.
- Electrical background a distinct advantage.
