Mechanical and Electrical Resident Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Mechanical and Electrical Resident Engineer.

  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical elements of our projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years' experience in postgraduate work, with a strong background in site supervision, contract administration, and project management of MEICA works on water engineering projects.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • A degree in a related discipline, such as mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of health and safety procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Specialise in mechanical and electrical elements of the works.
  • Drive delivery of projects onsite on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with a particular focus on health & safety, time for delivery, cost management and ensuring that the project is constructed to the specified quality standard.
  • Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract documents (works requirements).
  • Monitor and report on works being carried out to the Employer's Requirements.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years' postgraduate experience, with 4 years' industry experience in site supervision, contract administration and project management of MEICA works on water engineering projects.
  • A Degree in a related discipline, such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering works, Mechanical & Electrical Works, design build operate projects and project management.

Skills:

  • Capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping works records.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
  • Satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts, experience in FIDIC and Public Works forms of contract would be advantageous, but not essential.

Education:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 7 years' experience in postgraduate work, with a strong background in site supervision, contract administration, and project management of MEICA works on water engineering projects.
