Job Summary:

We are recruiting for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our in-patient mental health service delivering exceptional care to adults with complex mental health needs on a fixed term basis.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected organisation that provides specialised care to adults with serious and enduring mental health conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's disease, early onset dementias, and mood disorders.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in research and quality improvement initiatives, advancing best practices and contributing to the advancement of the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct psychological assessments and develop therapeutic interventions for individuals, families, and groups.
  2. Manage a caseload of patients while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care and support.
  3. Ensure compliance with clinical governance standards and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
  4. Support patients in achieving recovery goals through evidence-based approaches.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A recognised Level 8 qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
  • At least one year of post-graduate experience in adult mental health or related settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Post-qualification experience working within adult mental health/psychiatry of later life.
  • Experience working within a mental health rehabilitation setting/framework.
  • Training in cognitive-behavioural therapy.
  • Training/expertise in at least one other therapeutic modality (e.g. family therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, schema therapy, emotion-focused therapy, compassion-focused therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy).
