The Opportunity

We have an opening for a Project Engineer in our Roads team in Ireland. This is a great chance to work on a range of projects, from rural and urban design to major road projects and urban street design.

As a Project Engineer, you will work within our Transport Infrastructure team delivering a diverse and challenging range of projects. You will gain valuable experience working with high-profile clients and contribute to the development of national design standards and policy.

This role offers long-term opportunities for career growth and development, including the chance to input into design and coordination, liaise with other contributors, and deliver projects to technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical designs for projects in accordance with approved standards and procedures.
  • Undertake research to inform updates to existing and new national design standards and policy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and technical guidance.
  • Implement QA procedures for deliverables and ensure H&S compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, project managers, and clients.
Requirements

Essential Skills

We are looking for someone with a level 8 degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of postgraduate experience, preferably in a consultancy environment, and be working towards chartered professional status.

Technical skills required include knowledge of Road Design Aspects, AutoCAD, and experience with Geometric Design, Drainage Design, and Traffic signs and road markings.

Desirable Skills

Additional desirable skills include proficiency in ArcMap GIS, Road Safety Audits, and experience with TII Publications and Vehicle Restraint Systems.
