Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to support several activities of the Pig Health Check (PHC) program as an Innovation Broker. The successful candidate will report directly to the PHC Program Manager and focus on the TAILWARDS project, a collaboration between Teagasc, Animal Health Ireland, and the Irish Farmers Association (IFA).



Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work as an Innovation Broker for the PRRS eradication/control task
  • Contribute to other tasks of the project, such as overstocking feedback
  • Arrange meetings, review and update materials, take minutes, develop reports, and write newsletters and articles
  • Provide technical information and support to veterinarians and farmers


Candidate Requirements:



  • Highly organized, motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality results
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to enable effective knowledge and technology transfer
  • Ability to work effectively and with flexibility as part of a team
  • Competence in writing technical material and farm articles
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office Tools
  • Excellent project management, analytical, report-writing, and data analysis skills
  • The ability to drive unaccompanied on Irish public roads and have their own transport


Desirable Qualifications:



  • Experience in the Irish pig industry
  • Knowledge and experience of epidemiological concepts of disease control
