Our team is seeking a highly skilled High-Speed Photonics Devices Specialist to join our innovative project focused on developing high-speed electro-absorption modulated laser (EML) devices. This breakthrough technology aims to address the growing market demand for 400G, 800G, and faster optical network upgrades.

About the Role

This role involves testing and characterizing EML chips to establish device specifications and finalize current technology. You will also engage with foundry partners to provide feedback on fabrication quality and work closely with commercial leads to provide performance data and technical support to customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in photonics, at least 2 years of experience in photonic device characterization, and hands-on experience with reliability testing of photonic devices. Proficiency in using equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, DC probe stations, and Optical Spectrum Analyzers is essential. Experience in computer automation for photonic device characterization and photonic design and simulation is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct DC, RF, and reliability testing of fabricated high-speed EML chips.
  • Provide detailed device specifications and datasheets to the Principal Investigator.
  • Engage with foundry partners to provide feedback on fabrication quality.
  • Work with external testing partners to champion comprehensive reliability testing.
  • Design and simulate photonic devices using commercial software tools.
  • Create mask designs using internal software design tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Photonics.
  • At least 2 years of experience in photonic device characterization.
  • Hands-on experience with reliability testing of photonic devices.
  • Proficiency in using equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, DC probe stations, and Optical Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Experience in computer automation for photonic device characterization.
  • Photonic design and simulation skills.
