About the Role:
">This is a permanent, 29 hour week position in our preschool service. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced caregiver to support young children with intellectual disabilities in their daily living.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Facilitate and support service-users, including children with complex needs, in both service based and community programmes
- Support young children in their daily living and identify and develop people's natural support networks, work and social roles, and access meaningful activities in the community
- Work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality care and support services
Requirements:
">- A recognised qualification (FETAC level 5) in a relevant field e.g. Social Care, Training, Education, Teaching etc.
- A strong interest and/or experience in working with young children with an intellectual disability
- Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, organisational and initiative skills
- Knowledge of relevant national legislation, policy and standards e.g. HIQA and New Directions
- A full manual driving license is an essential requirement for this role
