At Engineeringuk, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our global engineering team responsible for designing and innovating our rapidly expanding data center footprint.

Engineers at Amazon work on designing resilient, cost-effective mechanical services systems that achieve world-class uptime for our customers. We communicate technical decisions to senior management and drive continuous advancements and improvements with our designs.

We value engineers who can design mechanical systems, understand critical equipment needs for data centers, and evaluate constructability of various designs. Our ideal candidate will be part of a diverse team collaborating across software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other roles.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Working with internal teams to understand user requirements
  • Participating in site selection reviews
  • Managing design consultancy firms to create, review, and release data center designs
  • Leading concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
  • Traveling for site reviews and conducting engineering evaluations, audits, and site launches

Required qualifications include a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, several years of experience with mission-critical air and water cooling HVAC design, ability to research new designs and technologies, and complex business case analysis skills.
