Senior Civil Engineer - Water Industry Innovator
Job Description
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the water industry by developing and implementing innovative surface water management and sustainable drainage solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, design, and deliver innovative surface water management and sustainable drainage solutions for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- Lead and support the design of Su DS interventions/solutions, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective project delivery.
- Contribute to the preparation of contract documents for the construction phase of Su DS interventions/solutions.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, planning officers, and regulators to secure approvals for Su DS schemes.
Responsibilities also include:
- Undertaking hydraulic modeling, runoff calculations, and attenuation/storage design to meet current standards.
- Providing technical expertise for interdisciplinary analytical studies, ensuring accurate data analysis and interpretation.
- Supporting site teams with the implementation of designed solutions and providing technical input during construction.
- Promoting innovation and sustainable practices within drainage, wastewater, and water infrastructure, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, with Chartered/Incorporated status or working towards it. Proficiency in drainage design software (e.g., Civil 3D) is essential, as is experience in mentoring and training junior staff.
