About the Role

CPL is currently looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our sawmill plant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical systems and equipment.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy industry maintenance, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for conducting fault diagnosis, repairs, and routine maintenance on plant equipment, as well as performing preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and internal standards.
  • Conducting fault diagnosis, repairs, and routine maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Acting as first responder for mechanical breakdowns on-site.
  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining and repairing a range of systems, including motors and gearboxes, chain drives, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, mobile plant equipment, boilers, and drying kilns.

The ideal candidate will have time-served mechanical fitter experience, relevant qualifications in Mechanical Automation, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Toolmaking, or a related field. At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role is preferred. Additional safety-related training is beneficial.
