Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and registered Dental Hygienist to join our team in dental practice. In this role, you will play a key part in providing preventive oral care, periodontal treatments, and patient education, ensuring high standards of hygiene and clinical excellence.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Provide professional oral health advice and treatments in line with Dental Council of Ireland regulations and best practices.

Manage patient appointments efficiently, ensuring smooth treatment flow.

Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized clinical environment, following infection control and health & safety protocols.

Ensure proper use and regular maintenance of dental equipment and instruments in line with manufacturer recommendations.

Keep detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with professional guidelines.

Prioritize patient comfort, care, and safety throughout treatments.

Adhere to health and safety regulations, including PPE usage, COSHH, infection control, and waste disposal.

Administrative & General Duties:

Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of dental materials and supplies.

Communicate effectively with the reception and dental team to ensure smooth patient care and record management.

Support the efficient operation of the practice, including assisting with other duties if needed.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance skills.

Complete CPR and medical emergency training updates as required.

Follow all practice policies, rules, and professional codes of conduct.

Requirements:

Recognized qualification in Dental Hygiene.

Registered with the Dental Council of Ireland.

Minimum 1 year of experience in dental hygiene (preferred but not essential).

Strong knowledge of oral hygiene techniques, periodontal care, and infection control.

Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a dental team.
