Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled trade professional to fill an apprenticeship position in the industry.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out full apprenticeship training as per SOLAS MAMF requirements, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • To maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • To contribute to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement targets.
  • To assist with planned maintenance tasks on equipment as per the Plant CMMS system, while upholding client standards.
  • To investigate and repair equipment during unexpected downtime events.
  • To attend external block release sessions as directed by Solas.
  • To successfully pass Junior and Senior trades exams.
  • To record all work activities on the client's CMMS system and ensure timely completion and closure of tasks.
  • To collaborate with department engineers and support personnel to identify and resolve issues.
  • To complete all necessary training within specified timeframes using the client's learning management system.
  • To familiarize with relevant site systems to complete assigned tasks.
  • To maintain a 'Best Practice' regime and encourage continuous improvement.
  • To report any accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately to the line manager or supervisor.
  • To undertake small projects as required by the Maintenance manager or Maintenance supervisor.
Requirements
  • A Leaving Certificate qualification.
  • A minimum O3 grade in maths in the Leaving Certificate.
  • Basic computer skills are essential, with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook being an advantage.
  • Ability to follow instructions thoroughly, accurately, and without discussion.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a willingness to be part of a team.
  • An enthusiastic approach to work with attention to detail.
  • Good initiative and proactive attitude towards work with effective time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a customer-facing environment.
