Job Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA engineer to join our team at ESB, Ireland's leading energy utility. As a key member of our Distribution Markets and System Operation (DMSO) team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, which plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our distribution network.

In this role, you will work closely with our team to support and maintain the SCADA system, develop and test Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) configurations, and ensure the smooth operation of our distribution network. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of advanced SCADA and Distribution Management Systems (DMS) applications.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong understanding of SCADA systems, substation RTUs, and industry standard communication protocols. You should also possess excellent communication and technical skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members. Additionally, you should be able to stay abreast of best practice developments in network operation systems and provide support to the OT Cybersecurity Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test RTU configurations
  • Support and maintain 24x7 operation of the SCADA systems for ESB Networks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver new projects and meet strategic objectives
