We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising personnel, ensuring efficient plant operations, and maintaining a safe working environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing day-to-day supervision of MRF personnel, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.

• Identifying and implementing best practices to maximize production output and improve the efficiency of both the MRF and yard operations.

• Regularly reviewing performance data and leading the team to achieve KPI targets.

• Working closely with the MRF Manager to develop work schedules, ensuring operational and annual leave coverage needs are met.

• Monitoring daily operations, including staffing levels, material handling, and production targets. Ensuring efficient use of resources, including fuel usage, staffing hours, and adherence to the 5S methodology.

• Ensuring incoming loads meet quality standards for processing. Quickly addressing contamination issues and adjusting pricing as needed.

• Overseeing the efficient and compliant handling, separation, and delivery of waste materials to appropriate outlets. Ensuring pre-sorting by loading machine operators is completed.

• Ensuring all revenue and cost-control measures are followed. This includes monitoring weighbridge traffic, diesel usage, and ensuring that waste received is accurately categorized.

• Implementing and overseeing a comprehensive maintenance program for all fixed and mobile plant equipment within the MRF. Ensuring daily cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed, and collaborating with maintenance personnel for scheduled PM activities.

• Ensuring all personnel are fully trained and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.

• Addressing any safety concerns or issues promptly.

• Implementing a plant maintenance program with all fixed and mobile assets clearly identified and overseeing the use of Asset minder for logging maintenance activities.

• Supporting other operational activities as requested by the MRF Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Proven supervisory experience in a production or waste management environment.

• Experience supervising teams in a labour-intensive, multi-shift operation.

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate staff.

• Familiarity with operating and maintaining MRF equipment and mobile plant machinery.
