Vacancy for a S&C Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strength & Conditioning practitioner to join our Performance team as part of our strategy for Olympic/Paralympic cycles.

About the Role
  • This is an initial 1-year part-time coaching contract with the possibility of extension or full-time appointment based on performance.
  • The successful applicant will support the physical preparation of athletes based in our National Centre, primarily focusing on those within the Development section of our Programme.
  • As part of the Performance team, you will work collaboratively to lead and deliver world-class Performance programmes in our National Aquatics Centre.

You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to other Sport Science interventions carried out by our Performance staff and contribute valuable input to Strength & Conditioning coaching initiatives within the Performance programme as a whole.

Responsibilities
  • You will support athletes transitioning towards a Performance environment which can lead them to success on the international stage.
  • You will plan for and attend swim meets and/or camps to support athletes based in our National Centre, Programme and/or Regional Squad/Programme.
  • You will work contracted hours to fulfill the requirements of the post, which may include unsocial hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • You will travel within Ireland for meetings and secondments as necessary.
Requirements
  • You must have a passion for developing a Performance and/or Performance Pathway programme.
  • You should have a personality and character that can be developed into leadership, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with athletes and key partners.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to direct the development of the programme in both the short and long term.
  • A recognised Strength & Conditioning qualification/accreditation (UKSCA or NSCA) is required, or you must demonstrate capability to attain such a qualification within the contract term.
