Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Regional Safety Engineer - Critical Project Implementation to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on ensuring the safe delivery of advanced data center infrastructure through the deployment of health and safety programs and collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Deploy health and safety programs that embed safety into scopes of work across regions, leveraging lessons learned across the globe.">
  • Partner with global teams of health and safety professionals to set goals, strategic direction, continuous improvement mechanisms, and prioritize critical project implementation health and safety issues.">
  • Champion AWS's Serious Incident Risk (SIR) prevention strategy within the critical project implementation scope of work to systematically identify, trend, assess, and mitigate high-consequence risks in the business.">
  • Develop and implement existing mechanisms that operationalize the AWS Construction Safety Management Program.">
  • Deploy industry-recognized health and safety cultural assessments and empower the business to act on assessment results.">
  • Implement Procore H&S functionality within critical project implementation operations.">
  • Develop critical project implementation global minimum health and safety standards that incorporate existing construction standards and operational safety policies.">
  • Establish critical project implementation health and safety key performance indicators (leading/lagging) and metric output mechanisms.">
  • Implement lessons learned processes to drive the development of competencies of line managers and health and safety professionals within the region.">
  • Support and analyze operational controls and management processes required for safe project execution.">
  • Support project managers in the execution of the health and safety safety management system during the planning and execution of all phases of critical project implementation projects.">
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance of AWS vendors with onboarding requirements in Avetta.">
  • Develop a health and safety kickoff standard work process to be scaled and delivered by project managers and perform reviews of AWS vendor safety management plans.">
  • Manage third-party/internal health and safety resources on critical project implementation projects.">
  • Identify improvement opportunities across projects and partner with Data Center Health and Safety (DCHS) Operational Team on project/region/global issues impacting critical project implementation delivery.">
  • Conduct regular site visits with health and safety third-party resources, project managers, and Data Center Health and Safety Operational teams.">

You will be integrated with a global network of health and safety professionals including program specialists, regional safety managers, and regional safety engineers in operational teams.


Required Skills and Qualifications

">
  • ">
  • 7-10 years' experience in health and safety, contractor management, due diligence reviews, contractor safety, program implementation, or providing direct oversight for 3rd party services/contractors/consultants.">
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.">
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.">
  • Masters degree or equivalent.">
