
Lead Genetics and Genomics Visionary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary National Bioinformatics Director to lead our efforts in implementing the National Strategy for Accelerating Genetic and Genomic Medicine in Ireland. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and expertise in bioinformatics, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and expertise in bioinformatics to support the implementation of the National Strategy.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the strategy.
- Develop and implement strategies for advancing genetics and genomics clinical services.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the role.
Requirements:
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Genomics.
- At least 7 years of post-qualification full-time experience in laboratory/clinical bioinformatics.
- At least 5 years of senior management experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory or clinical bioinformatics.
- Strategic leadership experience in genetic and genomic bioinformatics services, including national projects.
- Published work in peer-reviewed publications.
- Knowledge and ability to perform the duties of the office to a high standard.
