About the Role

Hibernia Services Limited is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our team in Dublin. This is a day rate contract position located with our client in Dublin.

The successful candidate will have at least three years' experience delivering, documenting, and supporting data engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, document, and deploy scalable and reliable data pipelines to support analytical and operational processes.
  • Utilize Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Fabric Service to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Implement data storage solutions using DLS Gen 2, Azure SQL Database, and Fabric One Lake to optimize data access and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data architecture and engineering solutions.
  • Provide first- and second-line support for data engineering systems and services.

Requirements:

  • At least three years' experience delivering, documenting, and supporting data engineering solutions.
  • Expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets using Azure and Fabric Services.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, R, and Spark for data processing.
  • Experience with Azure and Fabric storage solutions and Delta Lake principles.
  • Familiarity with real-time data ingestion and processing using Azure Event Hub, Azure IoT Hub, Apache NiFi, or similar.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and DataOps CI/CD best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, version control, testing, and operations.
