Occupational Therapist Job Summary

This role involves working with adults with intellectual disabilities, providing assessment, planning, intervention, and review of occupational therapy programmes.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement tailored occupational therapy programmes for adults with intellectual disabilities.
  2. Deliver needs-based, outcome-focused care guided by the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and goal setting.
  4. Maintain professional standards in assessment, documentation, reporting, and service delivery.
  5. Ensure best practice in line with HSE policies and HIQA standards.
  6. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in practice and the workplace.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  1. BSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent recognised qualification).
  2. CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  3. Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, at least 1 year working with adults with intellectual disabilities.
  4. Experience of working with Adults with Mental Health, Autism, Intellectual disabilities with complex and stress behaviours.
  5. Experience with Sensory processing (Adults) Knowledge and Experience of working with MDT teams.
  6. Previous experience in leading, supervising, or mentoring junior Occupational Therapists, students, or support staff.

This is a part-time permanent position within a well-established Adult Disability team. The successful candidate will have regular training, CPD, supervision, and career development opportunities.
