Senior R&D Role Overview

A career-defining opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the research and development of innovative product platforms in a dynamic team.

This role demands exceptional project management, applied research, and technical skills. As an active lab position, you will be expected to drive innovation with extensive cross-functional collaboration. You will combine creative and technical laboratory skills to create groundbreaking new products. This multifaceted role involves delivering multiple new product initiatives to achieve global ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee R&D activities (chemical, formulation, and microbiological) for renovation and innovation projects.
  • Develop comprehensive R&D project plans, setting priorities with the R&D formulation chemist and microbiologist.
  • Ensure timely project execution using suitable project management tools, including scoping, milestone achievement, scheduling, quality, and cost management.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to identify, develop, and create new product formulations, and assist in defining new product attributes.
  • Design and implement laboratory screening methods and analytical testing capabilities to assess product feasibility or issues.
  • Interpret R&D results and communicate them to the R&D team, stakeholders, and senior leadership via regular updates, reports, and presentations.
  • Manage new R&D formulation trials and scale-up approved formulations, including process variable identification for production, manufacturing specifications, and pilot equipment input.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and resourcefulness when solving complex issues during development, troubleshoot technical problems, and provide recommendations.
  • Foster internal business partnerships with functions like marketing, strategic demand, technical, packaging, regulatory, production, engineering, and quality.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve issues in quality, technical, engineering, and operations departments.
  • Offer managerial guidance and feedback to the R&D team.
