By collaborating closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, the role holder will champion responsible care, enhance site performance, and contribute to the achievement of business objectives while upholding core values and cultural commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Built and maintain strong working relationships with sites leadership and management team, working with function leads to deliver results through the team.
- Develop effective working relationships with site based and central Teams, including external parties, work with them to develop strong underpinning knowledge of onsite processes.
- Develop an open, approachable and professional relationship with all your peers. This includes understanding and demonstrating our cultural commitments each and every day.
- Communicate openly and regularly with your line manager and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with relevant personnel, keeping them updated with relevant site/departmental information.
- Interact openly with Directors when they are on site, taking the opportunity to engage, to question, to learn and to suggest better ways of working together.
- Respond to company messages, emails, instructions and business communication in a timely manner, where appropriate; escalates issues appropriately; contribute to meetings and briefings.

- Support & participate in internal and third-party audits to verify compliance with Responsible Care requirements within your areas of work.
- Participate in the development of an effective and pro-active safety culture within the department and the wider site.
- Comply with workplace safety practices, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with safe working procedures, control measures identified via risk assessment and reporting of SIRs, Good Saves and Near misses.
- Support the implementation of the Health & Safety policy and vision to ensure the safety at work of all employees.
- Ensure all operations on site are carried out to meet the requirements of the appropriate Health and Safety legislation and Company standards.
- Complying with your H&S legislative responsibilities and company standards.
- Implement sustainable practices that minimise environmental impact, such as reducing waste, emissions, and energy consumption.
- Monitoring and optimising usage of water, gas and electricity on the site.
- Engage with site initiatives in order to drive energy conservation projects.
- Ensure waster is been managed in accordance with the standard operating procedures & environmental management systems.
- Drive and champion waste reduction as per EPA requirements.
- Carry out tool box talks where required.
- Conduct environmental audits and review processes, techniques and equipment to determine how emissions can be reduced and compliance with environmental standards.
- Ensure compliance of the Industrial Emissions Licence (IEL Licence).
- Liaise with the EPA as required.
- Carry out sampling & Analysis of waste treatment plant.
- Conduct relevant on-site environmental testing procedures to ensure site complies with licence parameters e.g COD, suspended Solids, pH on wastewater & storm water.
- Implement compliance to standard testing procedures/methods.
- Record all results to be accurately and report electronically to include the notification of relevant personnel of any out of specification or unusual result readings.
- Proactively review results and flag trends and non-conformances on a timely basis.
- Lead & support environmental initiatives across the site.
- Consumable management and ordering as required.
- Represent the environmental function of Leprino to all stakeholders, maintaining on-going clear communication.
- Assist with the writing of SOPs (in accordance with ISO: 14001) and environmental SOPS (in accordance with BAT Codes of Practice).
- Work independently and cross functional with the relevant departments.
- Lead or support root cause investigations, drive problem solving efforts to support continuous environmental improvements across the site, including as appropriate data trend analysis and investigations and the documentation or investigation results.
- Understand, observe and ensure compliance with the Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Attend site meetings as required.
- Support and promote the development of an effective and pro-active safety culture on-site.
- Complete all training as required.
- Deputies for the Health and Safety manager as required.
- Administration of orders accurately and efficiently ensuring goods inward & dispatching process, done in a timely and effective manner with accuracy and attention to detail, in time to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Continuous upskilling in necessary legislation.
- Maintain and manager the ISO:14001 standard for the site.
- Perform any other duties reasonably required to support the team and business objectives, in line with the scope of the role.
- Follow clear guidance and direction on our processes.
- Work closely with various departments, including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain, to drive process improvements.
- Encourage a collaborative environment where team members work together to achieve common goals.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with team members, keeping those you interact with up to date, on project progress and changes.
- Provide constructive feedback to team members and encourage them to share their ideas and suggestions.
- Support a culture of innovation where team members feel empowered to identify and solve problems using Lean and continuous improvement principles.
- Work with team members to develop and implement effective solutions to process-related challenges.
