Job Responsibilities
As a Civil Engineering Technician with the Office of Public Works, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Working on various projects related to civil engineering, including the operation and maintenance of surface water and rainfall monitoring stations;
- Undertaking flow measurement using the latest technology;
- Installing new monitoring stations;
- Operating and maintaining telemetry equipment;
- Quality assessing and managing collected hydrometric data;
- Planning and setting out construction projects, and measuring and recording progress;
- Undertaking surveys of rivers, lakes, and coastal locations using the latest technology, including drones and GIS; and
- Managing office administration.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, as well as experience working with software applications relevant to this field. A degree in civil engineering or a related field is required. In addition, you should be at least 18 years old and meet the eligibility requirements outlined below.
