Infrastructure Asset Manager

The Infrastructure Asset Manager leads the lifecycle management of all infrastructure, plant, equipment, and systems across multiple assets. This senior leadership role is responsible for strategic asset planning, condition monitoring, renewals forecasting, and the integration of maintenance and project activities in accordance with ISO 55001 standards.

This role oversees the use of data-driven decisions that extend asset life, reduce downtime, and optimise service delivery. A strong working knowledge of ISO 55001 Asset Management systems and practices is required.

Responsibilities
Strategic Asset Management
  • Develop and maintain an Asset Management Strategy aligned with ISO 55001 standards.
  • Lead the implementation of integrated project portfolios and capital works programmes.
  • Monitor asset condition and performance using predictive analytics and risk-based prioritisation models.
  • Identify, scope and propose high-value renewal and upgrade projects.
Operational Oversight
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate asset inventories, condition assessments, and performance records.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is scheduled and recorded effectively.
  • Lead interface between operations, maintenance, and project teams for whole-of-life asset optimisation.
  • Coordinate technical audits and ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental standards.
Project & Budget Management
  • Lead scoping, budgeting and planning of asset renewal projects.
  • Recommend procurement strategies and manage technical input into tender documents.
  • Track asset-related expenditure and align with budget forecasts.
Reporting & Communication
  • Produce monthly and annual Asset Management Reports.
  • Ensure timely updates to asset registers and associated records.
  • Provide technical leadership and advice on all asset-related matters.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in infrastructure asset management.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 55001 Asset Management systems and practices.
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems – preferably Maximo.
  • Proven experience in lifecycle cost analysis, condition assessment, and capital project scoping.
