We are seeking a qualified and experienced Bus Driver to join our team.

Job Description:

As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of customers across Cork City & County. Your primary duties will include driving large passenger vehicles according to road regulations, following scheduled timetables, routes, stops, and adjusting when necessary. You will also be expected to deliver outstanding customer service by greeting passengers, answering queries, assisting boarding/disembarking, and supporting passengers with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and reliably drive large passenger vehicles, strictly according to road regulations.
  • Follow scheduled timetables, routes, stops, and adjust when necessary.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service: greet passengers, answer queries, assist boarding/disembarking, support passengers with special needs.
  • Handle ticketing, payments, and issue boarding passes or tickets where needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior and conduct routine pre-shift checks.
  • Keep accurate logs: tachograph, fuel, mileage, maintenance, incident reporting.
  • Professionally manage passenger concerns or complaints; escalate serious incidents.
Required Qualifications:

Valid Irish Category D Licence is essential for this role. In addition, you will need to hold a valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification and a digital tachograph card. You must also be eligible to work in Ireland.

Desirable Attributes:

Previous experience as a bus or coach driver would be an advantage. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are also highly desirable. Basic knowledge of Cork's geography, landmarks, and public transport network would be beneficial. A strong sense of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism is also required.
