Job Description

Cpl Healthcare is seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in the stroke rehab unit based in Dundalk. As part of this role, you will work closely with colleagues from various disciplines, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical social workers, and dietitians.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in stroke rehabilitation and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care. A strong background in conducting videofluoroscopy assessments and dysphagia management would be advantageous. Additionally, the successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with stroke-related communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide cohesive and effective patient care.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in areas such as videofluoroscopy and dysphagia management.
  • Participate in cross-site work and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A recognized qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Eligibility for registration with CORU.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in stroke rehab.
  • Dysphagia experience and qualification.
  • Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
