Role Overview:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated professionals to join our Primary Care Child Services Team in Mayo with a base in Castlebar.

The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions to children and their families across the Mayo area, including:

  • Providing psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for children aged 0–18 within the primary care setting.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
  • Delivering time-limited interventions, both individually and in groups, in line with the goals of the Wait List Initiative.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HSE standards and professional guidelines.
  • Participating in service planning, development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Liaising with families, schools, and relevant agencies as appropriate to support children's psychological well-being.
  • Contributing to the development of clinical pathways to address service delays and improve access to care.
  • Engaging in clinical supervision and continued professional development (CPD) activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology or equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
  • Relevant experience working with children and families, ideally in a primary care or child mental health setting.
  • Ability to travel within the Mayo area; a full driving license and access to transport is desirable.
