Purpose of Position:
  • To improve the quality of life for our residents by delivering personalized and meaningful activities that promote mental and physical stimulation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Resident Relationships:
    • BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH REGULAR INTERACTION AND COMMUNICATION.
    • DEVELOP A DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF EACH RESIDENT'S LIFE STORY, INCLUDING THEIR PAST AND PRESENT EXPERIENCES.
    • FOSTER CONVERSATION, ENCOURAGE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, AND SUPPORT DAILY ROUTINES.
  • Activity Planning:
    • CREATE AND OVERSEE A VARIETY OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL STIMULATION.
    • EVALUATE THE APPROPRIATENESS AND BENEFITS OF ACTIVITIES FOR RESIDENTS' HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.
  • Health and Safety:
    • SAFEGUARD THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF RESIDENTS, STAFF, AND VISITORS BY ADHERING TO ESTABLISHED POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
    • PARTICIPATE IN FALL MANAGEMENT AND MOVING AND HANDLING TECHNIQUES TRAINING.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain effective communication with residents, staff, families, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
    • Contribute to creating a positive and supportive working environment.
  • Monitoring and Recording:
    • Observe, monitor, and document residents' conditions during activities.
    • Assist with meal times, making them enjoyable and engaging experiences.
  • Implementation Support:
    • Collaborate with management to implement relevant health and activity agendas.
    Requirements:
    • Able to work in Ireland without the need for work authorization.
    • Two years of experience as an Activity Coordinator (preferred).
