Job Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Building Services Lead to join our team at PE Global. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall responsibility for the management of the Permit to Work System on client site for works in the FM remit, ensuring that all aspects of the job are carried out to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building services, plant engineering, and technical services. They will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of managing teams and achieving goals.

Main Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Permit to Work System on client site for works in the FM remit
  • Provide training to staff in terms of system operation and facilities awareness
  • Authorize competent persons as appropriate, and manage contractors, consultants, specialists, and others
  • Take responsibility for an efficient and effective maintenance service to the Client
  • Manage staff morale and well-being
  • Deliver appropriate training to staff, reviewing work performance and progress
  • Line manager for estates operational staff
  • Carry out PDR staff assessments and identifying areas for improvement
  • Ensure services comply with legislative and statutory requirements
  • Manage a team who will ensure the safe operation of all plant and equipment on the site
  • Commercially manage the operational element of the contract, including management of Performance Monitoring systems and Contract and Commercial Compliance
  • Deliver cost-effective Planned Preventative Maintenance Service
  • Manage reactive maintenance service during normal operating hours of the site
  • Manage reactive maintenance service outside operating hours of the site
  • Be available for emergencies

Requirements

  • Experience in critical environments, ideally with experience in Pharmaceuticals or FMCG or manufacturing
  • Experience in building services and plant engineering
  • BIFM Level 5/Engineering Degree
  • Trouble shooting
  • Experience in maintenance technical issues
  • Experience in water hygiene regulations
  • Awareness of Maximo, CMMS, or equivalent
  • Proven experience of managing a maintenance team and achieving SLA's
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal
  • Numerate and computer literate
  • High level of interpersonal skills with ability to deal with people at all levels and disciplines
  • Fully aware of H&S and general legislative matters
