About the Role: We are seeking an Electrical Apprentice /Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Apprentice to join our team at Ardnacrusha, a leading-edge hydropower generating station on the Shannon Scheme.
Job Description: As a member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plant. This includes routine maintenance, diagnosing and problem-solving complex faults, and working closely with qualified craftspeople on site.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance of the power plant
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex faults to minimize downtime
- Work closely with experienced engineers and technicians to develop skills and knowledge
- Participate in off-the-job training modules to enhance technical expertise
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and technology. You must also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education and Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement with 5 merit grades or higher in maths, English, science, and two other subjects, or equivalent qualifications such as Leaving Certificate, Vocational Leaving Certificate, or FETAC/QQI Level 3 Major Awards.
