Job Function

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the overall success of Bristol Myers Squibb's External Manufacturing operations. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing process improvements to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities

  • Verify and validate inventory quantities, categorize and track inventory movements, and identify potential discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics providers to resolve inventory-related issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for inventory tracking, reporting, and analytics, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Provide support to the Global Inventory Team, contributing to the development of strategic plans and initiatives to enhance inventory management capabilities.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, informing recommendations for process enhancements and cost reductions.
  • Communicate inventory status, risks, and other relevant information to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust within the organization.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you should possess:

  • Substantial experience in inventory management, preferably in a multinational and pharmaceutical industry context.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software, including SAP, and proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • APICS certification and a degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
