The Transmission & Distribution division at Mott Macdonald is seeking a Principal Overhead Line Engineer to join an integral team delivering large projects globally.
This role involves providing specialist engineering advice and input across various projects, including performing, reviewing, and approving high-voltage OHL designs that comply with relevant international standards.
Key responsibilities include writing and reviewing reports, ensuring designs meet regulatory requirements, leading the preparation of design drawings, and updating or creating design standards and documentation.
Apart from this, the successful candidate will be involved in studies related to line and foundation design, tower spotting, sag-tension, plan and profile, conductor selection, structural design of lattice towers, steel poles, and wood pole design.
Additionally, they will prepare, review, and manage specifications, schedules, BOQ's, and other design documentation, provide information for complex multi-disciplinary issues, investigate and implement innovative design solutions, and deliver engineering projects according to client requirements and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate should possess a BSc or Master's degree in Civil Structural Engineering or a related field, with extensive experience in OHL engineering environments, including scheme and project/design management.
