Procurement Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Indirect Global Sourcing function by executing sourcing events from end to end and providing ad hoc analysis to Strategic Sourcing management.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain supplier performance review metrics & scorecards
  • Provide periodic and ad hoc indirect spend analysis reports
  • Execute sourcing events from start to finish, including: Contract review and approval
  • Take a strategic and long-term view of sourcing in identifying and developing innovative sources and contracts
  • Support and drive stakeholder alignment:
    • Identify key stakeholders
    • Engage with stakeholders throughout the sourcing process
  • Support Sourcing Managers in the strategic planning and project sourcing execution process:
    • Determine requirements for data analysis, identify relevant sources of information and establish channels to obtain the right information
    • Coordinate internal and external data analytics and e-sourcing support
    • Develop Go-To-Market and negotiation strategies
    • Provide support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process
  • Analyze supplier financials and capabilities using available and defined sources of information
  • Lead supplier Performance development activities and Management reviews
  • Perform Sourcing and Category Management activities for projects with limited complexity:
    • Execute end-to-end sourcing projects for less complex categories (in alignment with the Global Manager Sourcing)
    • Partner with suppliers and stakeholders to purchase goods and services at an optimal price concurrent with maintaining quality standards
  • Define and prepare sourcing event documentation inclusive of requirements, specifications, and inputs
  • Support suppliers and the organization throughout the process by resolving inquiries and disputes
  • Adhere to company policies, Sourcing, Finance, Quality, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and all Corporate policies
  • Ensure compliance with the approved vendor list
  • Analyze frequent spend and develop recommendations for improvement in cost and process
  • Achieve annual cost savings and value contribution targets
  • Negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers, Supplier Management:
    • Monitor and communicate quality and delivery performance to the supplier
    • Obtain bids to promote a competitive environment (locate, interview, analyze and evaluate vendor capabilities to select suppliers, partner with these suppliers to maximize company funds.)
  • Resolve supplier-related problems (work closely with suppliers to assure a positive and professional relationship, establish and maintain open lines of communication)
  • Maintain awareness of market trends pertaining to their responsibility
  • Proactively engage with all internal Stakeholders/Business leaders and the Global / Regional Indirect Sourcing Team to understand, create alignment and achieve business strategies and objectives
  • Other Ad-hoc or recurring assignments as the needs of stakeholders evolve
Requirements:
  • NFQ level 8 in Business, Supply Chain, Technical or any other similar discipline
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Medical Device experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management experience
