The Assistant GP Education Coordinator is a key member of the educational team responsible for delivering high-quality coordinated training to doctors undergoing specialist training in general practice.
The successful candidate will assist the Scheme Director in promoting coordinated training of a high standard within the training scheme. The role involves undertaking a range of duties, including teaching, assessing and facilitating small-group sessions with trainees, as well as assisting with curriculum planning and development.
Key responsibilities include actively promoting reflective practice and professionalism among trainees, providing personal support and trainee mentorship when required, and undertaking trainee assessments and managing formative and summative feedback.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working as an independent GP, extensive experience of GP training, and familiarity with the ICGP GP Training Curriculum. A demonstrable record of leadership and management in postgraduate medical education/training is also essential.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of the training programme and play a key role in shaping the next generation of general practitioners.
