Yard Operative Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced yard operative to join our team in County Limerick.

As a yard operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our yard and stores. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Loading and offloading deliveries safely;
  • Inspecting and storing incoming stock accurately;
  • Maintaining accurate stock records and updating inventory regularly;
  • Organizing the yard and stores for easy access;
  • Keeping the yard and stores clean, tidy, and safe;
  • Operating a forklift to move materials efficiently;
  • Performing routine checks on forklifts and equipment to ensure they are in good working order;
  • Following health and safety guidelines and promoting safe practices throughout the workplace;
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties as required.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience as a yard operative or similar role is preferred;
  • A full Irish driver's license is required;
  • Applicants aged 25+ are preferred due to insurance requirements;
  • A manual handling and forklift license is desirable but not essential, as training may be provided;
  • Knowledge of safe loading and unloading techniques is essential;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively;
  • Attention to detail when inspecting and storing stock;
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment;
  • Proactive approach to keeping work areas clean and tidy;
  • Good communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
