About the Role

The Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Development Engineer to join our Alternative Fuels Projects Unit. As an Infrastructure Development Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of alternative fuels recharging and refuelling infrastructure across Ireland's national road network.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the development, deployment, and administration of grant schemes to encourage the growth of Ireland's EV recharging infrastructure
  • Develop, refine, and manage data-related business processes, including the IDRO registry, considering existing processes, AFIR requirements, and stakeholder feedback
  • Establish and manage business processes to support external stakeholders, the AFPU team, Data Exchange Platform manager, technical support team, wider Network Management colleagues, and external stakeholders as required
  • Develop strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as the Department for Transport (ZEVI), Charge Point Operators, e Mobility Service Providers, and internal colleagues within TII's Network Management, Standards Section, and IT Department

Requirements

  • Degree or 3rd-level professional qualification in an engineering or relevant allied discipline
  • Minimum of five years' experience in design and construction of mechanical/electrical/IT systems or civil engineering projects, at least three of which should relate to the supervision and contract administration of contractors
  • Ideal candidate should be a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland or be professionally registered with an equivalent organisation or be in a position to commence the chartership process on appointment to the position
  • Possess a good understanding of programme and project governance, project and contract management, risk, financial, technical, contract, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to produce high-quality concise reports
  • Able to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
