Job Title: Site Caretaker

Job Summary:

The Regional Skills & Training Centre in Dundalk is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Site Caretaker to support the efficient day-to-day operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness throughout designated work areas, including wash-up facilities, toilets, and communal spaces.
• Ensure that heating systems are operated efficiently and economically, with regular monitoring and maintenance as required.
• Clean and maintain drains, water traps, and related systems, ensuring they operate safely and effectively.
• Manage lighting usage to minimize costs while maintaining optimal illumination levels.
• Keep external areas such as yards, pathways, and loading bays clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
• Oversee the use and storage of cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are properly maintained and readily available.
• Clean and maintain dust extraction and fume extraction systems to guarantee safe operation.
• Secure all windows, doors, and entry points before lock-up each day, ensuring the site remains secure.
• Provide general operational support as needed, and perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Assistant Manager.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Forklift operation certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience or skills in basic carpentry, general repairs, or facility maintenance would be highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and security procedures is essential for this role.
