Your New Role
As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering services on a specific construction project. The tasks associated with the project will vary and will be agreed with the Project Manager on an ongoing basis.

You will coordinate technical designs with onsite installations through to successful commissioning, ensuring company vision, mission & values are fulfilled.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete electrical design reviews to identify gaps and deviations or contradictions in specifications.
  • Validate cable sizing and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Ensure that technical assessments are completed as required and technical issues are resolved without delay.
  • Compile and issue electrical technical submittals.
  • Manage submittals through approvals processes, track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment, and complete receipt verification once equipment is delivered.
  • Attend and record regular supply chain meetings to ensure progress is monitored and maintained within overall construction programmes.
  • Update and record progress on system trackers which are fully aligned with the construction schedule.
  • Review electrical installations with BIM teams to ensure designs are constructible and there is adequate space for installation and maintenance of all equipment and cabling.
  • Liaise with design teams and supply chains to ensure correct operation of plant on site and successful handover.
  • Complete electrical system walk-downs to ensure systems are compliant with specifications and drawings.
  • Compile test packs, FTOP's, and O&M's and present for approval.
  • Manage specialist vendors during commissioning processes to ensure timely completion of their work.
Requirements:
  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience with both LV and MV systems primarily in building services and data centre environments.
  • Significant project engineering experience of 4 years+ with an Electrical Contractor.
  • Previous record of delivering small to medium electrical projects (commercial, industrial, pharma, data centre type projects).
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Capability of walking down electrical systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Experience developing technical submittals, completing technical reviews and assessments.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems and procedures – knowledge of team strengths and weaknesses.
  • The ability to multitask and manage many priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills/strong interpersonal skills/communicates effectively.
  • Excellent record-keeping and administration skills.
  • Plans and effectively manages projects.
  • You are process-driven and focused on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems and Processes.
