Senior Fuel and Water Analyst

Job Title: Laboratory Analyst

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Analyst to join our dynamic laboratory environment. The successful candidate will have a chemistry or engineering background and be responsible for the organisation, categorisation, and analysis of fuel and water samples, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards.

• Carry out fuel analysis to ensure compliance with commercial and technical standards.
• Conduct water and effluent analysis to support the plant's Environmental Management System.
• Assist in the control of steam and water chemistry on the plant.
• Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety and Energy Efficiency activities, including audits and risk assessments.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies as required.
• Maintain accurate records in line with ISO 17025 and laboratory quality standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a fuel, water, or environmental laboratory (accredited environment desirable).
• Technical qualifications in Chemistry or Engineering (C&G, HNC, HND or equivalent).
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 standard essential.
• Experience with fuel analysis, steam plant water analysis, effluent analysis.
• Familiarity with EPA licensing advantageous.
• Strong understanding of health & safety; Safepass certification desirable.
• Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Commitment to quality, compliance, and safety standards.
