Agricultural Conservation Specialist

The Boyne Rivers Trust is seeking a highly skilled Agricultural Conservation Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in promoting water-friendly farming practices and improving water quality across the Boyne River catchment.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to work with farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders to identify and implement effective solutions to reduce diffuse and point-source pollution from agriculture. You will undertake farm visits, provide advice on water management, and develop bespoke plans to help farmers improve their environmental performance.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to farmers on water-friendly farming practices and infrastructure improvements.
- Develop and implement a programme of work to promote sustainable agricultural practices and reduce water pollution.
- Liaise with partner organizations and government agencies to inform policy and practice changes.
- Document and disseminate project outcomes and lessons learned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant third-level qualification in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years' experience in a nature-based land management/agricultural advisory role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with GIS and spatial analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
