Finance Leader for Operational Excellence

To drive operational excellence in a retail business, we seek a seasoned finance professional to oversee and optimize financial operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across operational finance and be able to provide actionable insights that influence performance, efficiency, and profitability.

This role offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will be responsible for ensuring robust financial operations, accurate reporting, and strategic decision-making.

About the Role
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Manage month-end close, including inventory accounting, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor daily cash flow and manage currency hedging processes.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and statutory obligations.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads to provide financial insight into operational performance.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance, with exposure to operational and management accounting.
  • Retail or FMCG experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems, with experience in Sage being beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
