Key Responsibilities
• Provide medical care to patients with cancer, working collaboratively with consultants and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient management
• Participate in daily rounds, ensuring timely and effective decision-making and communication with the multidisciplinary team
• Order investigations and procedures as necessary, documenting findings in patient records in a clear and concise manner
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to hospital policies and guidelines
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participating in audits, and implementing changes to improve patient care and outcomes
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, supporting education and training programs to enhance professional growth and development
• Perform other duties as required by management, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the Oncology Department
Requirements
To succeed in this challenging and rewarding role, you must possess:
• Current Full Irish Medical Council Registration
• Membership of relevant college (desirable)
• Experience at Registrar level in an acute hospital setting
• Current BCLS certification (ACLS desirable)
• Strong interest in oncology medicine and patient care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• High level of flexibility to adapt to changing demands and priorities within the department
