Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This permanent role involves working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on day-to-day finance activities, as well as supporting strategic planning and financial planning & analysis processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting & Management Accounting
    • Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and supporting reports.
    • Provide insightful variance analysis and commentary to support decision-making.
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic financial planning activities.
    • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and accuracy of all financial records.
    • Manage intercompany reconciliations and oversee foreign exchange considerations during consolidation.
  • Tax & Compliance
    • Prepare and submit VAT, corporation tax, PAYE, RTD, VIES, and other statutory returns accurately and on time.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and relevant legislation.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, tax regulations, and best practices.
  • Payroll & Supplier Management
    • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for group entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation.
    • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports and returns to authorities.
    • Manage the supplier ledger, processing invoices, payments, and expenses, as well as overseeing cash collection.
  • Treasury & Controls
    • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain oversight of cash flow.
    • Ensure strong financial controls are maintained across all finance processes.
  • Collaboration & Support
    • Work closely with the CFO, providing financial support, analysis, and recommendations.
    • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to fostering a culture of teamwork within the wider finance function.
  • Ad-Hoc & Project Work
    • Support ad-hoc accounting tasks, financial projects, and research as required.
    Required Skills:
    • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
    • Strong technical accounting knowledge and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and standards.
    • Proven experience in preparing financial statements, management accounts, and financial analysis.
    • Familiarity with Irish tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax).
    • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and accounting software packages.
