Senior Lab Analyst

About this Role

This position is responsible for developing and optimizing analytical methods, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Perform analytical testing, data interpretation, and compound characterization while adhering to documentation and GMP standards.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods; support method transfer for new product introductions.
  • Troubleshoot analytical and technical issues during development and validation phases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates, resolve queries, and deliver projects on time.
  • Evaluate and improve lab operations to ensure timely delivery of projects while meeting site quality, safety, and technical KPIs.
  • Review and approve standard operating procedures (SOPs), lab documentation, investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Lead laboratory investigations, applying scientific rationale and root-cause analysis.
  • Promote best practices in compliance, ethical standards, and client service excellence.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • An honours degree in Chemistry or a related discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years' experience in an analytical laboratory.
  • Extensive knowledge of method development and method validation.
  • Familiarity with chromatographic techniques (HPLC, GC, IC) and spectroscopic techniques (IR, LC-MS, ICP-OES, Atomic Absorption).
  • Proficiency in common laboratory instruments and software packages.
  • Expertise in problem-solving and troubleshooting analytical equipment and methodology.
  • Thorough understanding of laboratory procedures.
  • Knowledge of data integrity principles.
  • Awareness of relevant national/international pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of requirements for working in a GMP environment.
