Senior Consultant in Adult Mental Health Services

This is a unique opportunity to lead and engage in the provision of community-based assessment and treatment programs, including out-patients clinics, day hospital services, and residential centers.

Within Cork Mental Health Service, you will provide consultant medical service and be responsible for the care and treatment of patients. You will ensure mechanisms for the coordination of care with the multidisciplinary team and other health and social care agencies are established and maintained.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive plans for patient care. This includes ensuring that all necessary resources are allocated to meet the needs of patients and their families.

The role involves providing a community-orientated service, with treatment provided in various community facilities. As a senior member of staff, you will lead and engage in the provision of community-based assessment and treatment programmes, including out-patients clinics, day hospital services, and residential centres.

Within this area's Mental Health Services provides an extensive range of services to a population of approximately 700,000. The general adult sectors offer a diverse range of services, including comprehensive acute inpatient care, liaison teams, and multidisciplinary care through Community Mental Health Teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult mental health services, with experience in leadership roles. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and patients alike.
