Backend Software Engineer

**Job Description:** We are seeking a skilled backend software engineer to join our team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of PHP and Symfony, with experience working on high-traffic systems.

**Responsibilities:**
* Develop and maintain scalable backend services using PHP (7/8) and Symfony
* Design and implement REST APIs for core business features
* Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers
* Write clean, testable code and contribute to CI/CD practices
* Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance tuning
* Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure consistent delivery

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
* 3+ years of backend development experience in PHP
* Strong knowledge of Symfony or a similar PHP framework
* Experience working with MySQL and building REST APIs
* Familiarity with Docker, version control (Git), and automated testing
* Understanding of clean code principles, design patterns, and SDLC
* Good communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork
