Job Title: EHS Specialist

We are seeking an EHS Specialist to support a construction project in East Cork. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing permit to work systems and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the Permit to Work system to ensure safe working practices on site.
  • Evaluate and implement effective risk assessments and method statements to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Deliver comprehensive EHS inductions to contractors and project personnel, emphasizing their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Analyze and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed EHS reports, records, and statistics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and enhance EHS management systems, policies, and procedures that align with industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and monitor the implementation of control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Maintain high standards of legislative and corporate EHS compliance, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in creating emergency response procedures and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless execution.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Possess relevant third-level qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental discipline.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, particularly concerning construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to effectively engage with contractors and stakeholders across diverse teams.
