About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional care to children with complex communication needs.

As a member of our Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT), you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, alongside a multidisciplinary team of professionals who share your passion for delivering high-quality care.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions for children with a range of communication difficulties, including speech, language, social communication, and feeding issues.

You will work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to deliver child-centred services that address the unique needs of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication challenges.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care that addresses physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior therapists and students.
  • Engage with families and caregivers to provide education and support regarding their child's communication needs.
  • Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects to ensure exceptional care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years working with children with disabilities.
  • CORU registration or eligibility to register.
  • Strong knowledge of the challenges and interventions related to communication disorders in children with developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
