Caregiver Advocate

Our organization is dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to adults and children with intellectual and physical disabilities. As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in this effort.

• You will assist with daily activities and routines, including direct support to individuals, administrative work, and household tasks.
• Work as part of a dynamic team in a Residential Service, adhering to regulations and standards.
• Provide flexible and supportive care, working shifts on a 24/7 basis, including sleep-ins and waking night duty as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a similar environment, supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
• Knowledge of adults/children with complex needs.
• A full manual driving license and eligibility to drive in Ireland.
• Eligibility to live and work in Ireland.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist with child/adult activities and care as assigned by the Manager and Integrated Care Plan.
• Encourage individual recognition and prioritize family needs and comforts.
• Act as an advocate for the child/adult and family, ensuring provision of appropriate information and support.
• Develop social interaction in individual and group settings.
• Maintain equipment knowledge, safety precautions, and handling.
• Participate in communication processes – team meetings/staff forums/emails.
• Ensure personal care is provided when required and maintain confidentiality.
• Flexible and willing to work shifts to meet service needs.
