Job Title: First Line Risk and Compliance Lead

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Operational Risk Framework aligned with regulatory standards and business objectives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Leading by example in promoting a customer-first, compliant, and high-performing team culture
    • Ensuring effective risk and compliance oversight, regulatory adherence, and continuous evolution of risk frameworks
    • Providing expert advice, support decision-making, and driving accountability across the business
    • Developing and maintaining the Operational Risk Framework aligned with AXA and regulatory standards
    • Overseeing day-to-day risk management, including monitoring risk registers, controls, and incident management

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • 5-7 years of total work experience
    • 3 years of management experience in an insurance business environment
    • A degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics or other related subject or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Professional Certificate in Insurance (APA) with commitment to progress further in insurance/compliance exams
    • Strong working knowledge of key processes, structures, and controls within the company
    • Knowledge of all relevant regulatory requirements
    • Ability to understand, articulate, challenge, and influence key stakeholders on risk and compliance-related topics

Background Screening Requirements:

This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.

Additionally, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
