The Waterford Intellectual Disability Association is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Care Worker to join their team. This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • \
  • Co-ordinate, develop, and implement individual plans to meet the aspirations and goals of each person supported\
  • Take on delegated responsibilities as Person-in-Charge, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements\
  • Ensure risk management within the workplace and promote a safe environment for all individuals\
  • Provide support that complements and builds natural relationships and community networks\
  • Facilitate a Person-Centred service that meets the needs, wishes, and requirements of each individual\
  • Foster positive relationships with individuals, staff, volunteers, and visitors, behaving in a professional manner at all times\
  • Assist in recruitment and induction of support workers and ensure one-to-one reviews are completed annually\
  • Support individuals to have valued roles that contribute positively to their local community\
  • Encourage community inclusion and foster positive links with other agencies and services\
  • Care for individuals in a way that promotes their equality, dignity, diversity, and rights\\/ul>\

Requirements

\

We are seeking a qualified Social Care worker with a minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related field. Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is essential, as well as the ability to work in a team and manage risks effectively.
